Risk disclosure
Trading shares, foreign exchange and cryptoassets can lead to partial or complete loss. Automated monitoring may process more information than a person can review manually, but it cannot predict markets or remove uncertainty.
1. General warning
Only commit money you can afford to lose without affecting essential spending, debt repayments or emergency savings. Consider your objectives, experience, time horizon and capacity for loss. Information on this site is educational and is not personal investment advice.
2. Market risk
Prices can move sharply because of company news, economic releases, policy decisions or shifts in sentiment. A position can lose value before an alert is delivered or reviewed. Use exposure limits and avoid assuming a recent trend will continue.
3. Liquidity and execution risk
In a thin or fast market, there may be fewer buyers or sellers at the displayed price. An order can execute at a different level, partly execute or remain open. Review order type, size and market conditions rather than treating the quote as certain.
4. Connection and API risk
An external connection can fail, lose authorisation or be configured with excessive permissions. Incorrect keys and mismatched settings may prevent monitoring or lead to unintended activity. Restrict permissions, use unique credentials and review connection status regularly.
5. Counterparty and custody risk
Funds or assets held by a bank, broker, exchange or payment provider depend on that organisation's controls and solvency. Access can be limited by an investigation, outage or legal process. Protection arrangements differ by asset and provider and may not cover cryptoassets.
6. Operational risk
Software defects, incorrect data, network interruption, human error and infrastructure failure can affect a service. A displayed status may become stale. Keep independent records, read confirmations and do not rely on one device or channel for urgent decisions.
7. Cybersecurity and phishing
Attackers may imitate the brand, intercept email or persuade a user to reveal a code. Strong authentication reduces risk but cannot protect information voluntarily given to an impostor. Verify the domain and contact support through a known route.
8. Model and automation risk
A model learns from limited historical data and assumptions that may not hold in new conditions. It can identify patterns that are coincidental, late or irrelevant. Automated settings need supervision, clear limits and a plan for pausing activity.
9. Service availability
Planned maintenance and unexpected failures may make the dashboard, alerts or connections temporarily unavailable. Market activity can continue while the interface is offline. Do not use the platform as the sole means of monitoring a time-critical exposure.
10. Before you begin
Understand the strategy, maximum intended exposure, costs and exit route. Protect the account, check permissions, start at a scale you can evaluate and review activity. Stop and seek independent advice if you do not understand a product or cannot bear the possible loss.
